Description

The Phlegrean fields are a large volcanic area (still active) unique in the world. It features bradyseism and comprises twenty four craters and volcanic edifices. What makes such an area so interesting is not only the soil composition but also the coexistence of historical ad natural beauties. Within a few kilometers of shore, there are promontories, inlets and beaches.

Day 1

In the morning arrival and accommodation at the hotel. In the afternoon visit of the Solfatara (from the late Latin Sulpha, ie land of sulfur) which is an active volcanic area that manifests itself vividly with fumaroles, gas springs and mineral water, hot mud jets and seismic shocks. Return to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 2

Breakfast. Departure for the guided tour of Pozzuoli: the Rione Terra, the Duomo, the Flavian Amphitheatre, the Temple of Serapide. Free afternoon and dinner with the possibility to eat in a typical restaurant in the area.

Day 3

Breakfast. Excursion to the Astroni Nature Reserve. It covers 247 hectares between the municipalities of Pozzuoli and Naples, on an extinct volcanic crater. Managed by the WWF, it offers visitors 5 types of tours: wetlands, landscape, geological, ornithological, forest life. Late morning return to the hotel. Check-out and end of services.
