REGULAR TOURS: Puglia from Naples

Arrival at Naples airport and transfer to the hotel. Leisure. At 6:00 p.m. meet the tour leader at the reception.

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Puglia. Before arriving in Bari, stop to visit the Castle of Monte d'Andria, a place of secrets and magic, a very ancient building from the 13th century built by Frederick II, emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, as well as one of the greatest symbol places of Puglia, heritage UNESCO World Cup. Then transfer and accommodation at the hotel.

OPTIONAL EXCURSION Old Bari, heart of the city of Bari 

Bari Vieja is a place where time seems to stop in its simplicity and authenticity. Walking through the narrow streets of this neighborhood, you can breathe the air of history, tradition and customs transmitted from generation to generation. The style of the buildings in the old town reflects the intertwining of the different eras that have characterized the architecture and daily life of this place.

After breakfast, we leave for Polignano a Mare, a wonderful medieval town perched on a high and steep coast. Walk to discover the alleys of the little town, between white houses and terraces overlooking the sea that reveal a unique and unforgettable panorama. We continue towards Monopoli, defined as the city of a hundred neighborhoods. Walk through its charming old town with the wonderful baroque cathedral and its promenade. Return to the hotel.

Optional excursion: Polignano Caves by boat

Boat trip of approximately 2 hours with embarkation and disembarkation from the small port of San Vito in Polignano a Mare. The excursion includes a visit to the main caves and the most evocative views that characterize the Polignano coast. A stop to swim in one of the places admired during the tour is also included.

After breakfast at the hotel, departure to Alberobello with its monumental town of Trulli that dates back to the mid-16th century and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its particular architecture and its historical importance. In the afternoon we continue to Locorotondo, which attracts its visitors because of the white color that seems to surround everything, because of the color of the flowers and plants that protrude from the balconies of the houses. Locorotondo, despite being so small, draws attention for the harmony of each of its parts, for the intimacy and grace it expresses: a city of light, all white, that dominates the valley from which it emerges. To finish, transfer to the hotel in Lecce.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will spend the day discovering Lecce, defined as the baroque capital of southern Italy. A cultural and historical center that hides ancient buildings of singular beauty, built over the centuries with the so-called “Lecce stone”. Squares, palaces, amphitheatres, sculptures carved in stone and inserted with great harmony in the urban context that, in the words of Thomas Ashe who visited it in the 18th century, is “the most beautiful city in Italy.” You cannot miss the visit to the Basilica of Santa Croce, with the adjacent Palace of the Celestines, the former Convent of the Celestine Fathers, where art in a magnificent triumph reaches the maximum level of aesthetic expression and the Duomo of Lecce located in the heart of its historic center, inside the square of the same name. During the excursion, lunch will be served with typical local cuisine dishes. Free time and possibility for lovers of culture and art, who love to walk, to discover other beauties and typical places of Lecce.

After breakfast at the hotel, departure to Ostuni, also known as the White City for its characteristic historic center. A walk through the old town offers picturesque views of alleys, steep stairs, courtyards and small squares dominated by white houses, artisan workshops, typical restaurants and small shops. After the visit, transfer to your hotel in Bari.

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage city, one of the oldest in the world, where history, culture and nature meet and merge, giving life to a place rich in impressive scenery and corners. Visit to the Sassi, an ancient settlement built into the rock. A tangle of caves used as homes, winding alleys, cave churches, terraces, gardens and underground passages make the Sassi a spectacular example of an architectural complex perfectly adapted to its natural environment. Continuation to Naples and hotel accommodation.
